Fred W. Scarlett

	Fred W. Scarlett, 65, of DuQuoin, died Friday, November 30, 2001 at 3:40 a.m. at his home in Inverness, Florida.  
	Mr. Scarlett was a Bank Examiner and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in DuQuoin.  He was a past Elder of Bethel Lutheran Church, auditor for First Lutheran Church in Inverness, Fla. and a member of Elks, VFW and American Legion.  Mr. Scarlett was a U.S. Army veteran.
	He was born July 20, 1936 at West Frankfort, the son of Fred and Margaret (Brown) Scarlett.  He married Kitty McClure on April 1, 1962 at Vandalia.
	 Surviving are his wife, Kitty Scarlett; two daughters and their husbands, Shelley and Rob Schantz of Inverness, Fla. and Sherri and Neal Halstead of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Don Scarlett of Pana; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Les and Donna McClure of Indianapolis,  Ind.; five grandchildren, Sidney Schantz, Taylor Schantz, Tyler Schantz, Blake Halstead and Jacob Halstead and four nieces.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean White.
	Funeral services were Wednesday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in DuQuoin with Rev. Gregory J. Schultz officiating.
	Interment was in St. Peters  Cemetery in Campbell Hill.
	Visitation was at Bethel Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..
	Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church in DuQuoin or First Lutheran Church in Inverness, Fla.
	Neal-McClure Funeral Home of DuQuoin was in charge of arrangements.
